JERE ALAN SPENCE, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. Born May 7, 1947, in Fairmount, Ind., he was a graduate of Fairmount High School and Indiana University, Bloomington. The U.S. Army Vietnam veteran was employed by American Electric Power Company for 39 years. He was a former member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He is survived by his spouse, Marianna Spence of The Villages, Fla.; and children, Stacey Spence of Denver, Colo. and Katie Spence of Indianapolis. Graveside service is 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, Ind. A gathering of family and friends will follow service at Hanfield United Methodist Church, Marion.
